FAQ

Are your therapists qualified?

Our therapists are fully qualified. Therapists need to show they’re qualified in each service they want to offer. To offer massages, therapists need to have a minimum NVQ Level 3 qualification. For specialist treatments including deep tissue, sports massage, injury/pain management, Thai massage, lymphatic drainage and pregnancy massages, therapists must show us additional qualifications or CPD certification.

What insurance do EBB mobile therapists have?
All EBB therapists need up-to-date insurance that covers public liability, professional indemnity and malpractice. We monitor expiry dates to make sure only insured therapists ever work on the app.

Is home massage safe? Are the mobile therapists background checked?

At EBB, safety is our top priority. Before a therapist can join the Urban community, they have to show us a clear and up-to-date criminal background (DBS) check. We also verify their identity. Therapists must meet our standards of qualification for each service they want to offer, and we check their insurance covers public liability, professional indemnity and malpractice. We also ask mobile therapists to take a number of assessments to make sure their knowledge is up-to-date. And we look over their kit and confirm their hygiene.

Are home treatments hygienic?

Our mobile therapists have to show they meet our high standards of hygiene by taking a number of assessments. We also check they have clean, spa/clinic-grade equipment, complete with single-use items, cleaning products and PPE relevant to each service they offer.

Do I need to provide anything for the session?

Yes, you’ll need to supply towels or bedsheets to cover the massage table (2x3m) and yourself. Our therapist will bring with them a massage table, relaxing music, our finest oils and a selection of essential oils, you just need to provide towels to cover the massage table and your body to catch any oil that may flow off your body.

By law we require our customers to wear underwear with a suitable sized towel. We recommend two to three large towels (or old sheets) and a smaller one for the headrest. Dark colours are best if you want to protect your towels from massage oil.

Can you have a massage when you’re sick?
No, for the good of you and your therapist, we recommend waiting until you’re totally better. That’s because massage can make symptoms like fever worse.

What sort of massage service do you offer?

At elite body balance, we understand there are various type of massages and services offered in the massage industry. We want to be clear, our service is entirely therapeutic and non-sexual in nature. We are 100% professional and will not tolerate any sexual requests or inappropriate harassment to our staff.

How do I make a booking?

Its SUPER simple, you can book online here or by giving our friendly team a call 07591440976 and we’ll be able to assist you with your booking.

How do I cancel a booking?

When you make a booking, the therapist’s diary is blocked off for your treatment plus travel time allowances before and after the treatment. This means no one else can make a booking during that period. Therefore, we ask for at least 24 hour notice – cancellations within 24 hours of the booking will incur a full cancellation charge of the treatment cost. If you’d like to make a cancellation, please contact your therapist directly, he/she will cancel it for you.

Where is your spa or massage centre?

We are mainly a mobile massage company and so our therapists will come to you, whether you’re at home, staying at a hotel or your office / workplace. We are focusing mainly in South East London areas but happy to travel within Zones 1-3 of London areas.

Ideally you should have a massage once a week to maintain a relaxed mind and body.
Some customers book regular monthly sessions with their regular therapists.

I don’t have a massage table, what do I do?

Don’t worry. Our massage therapists are equipped with their own massage tables which they take to all at-home appointments. Or we can use towels and a comfortable floor. Please make sure you have made enough space for your massage to be set up.

If I’m running late, does it run into my massage time?

Depending on how busy and the schedule of the therapist, it may cut into your massage treatment. So please make sure you are on-time and there for the arrival of our therapist.

Should I talk to the therapist during my treatment?

It is best for you to enjoy your treatment with your eyes closed and relaxed, but of course, if you like to have a chat that’s absolutely fine. If you experience pain or discomfort during the session, please immediately inform the therapist and the pressure can be adjusted to your level of comfort.

I’m pregnant is it safe to have a massage?

Unfortunately, if you are in your first 3 months of pregnancy we are unable to offer you a massage treatment. If you are more than 3 months pregnant we can offer you our massage service but suggest you have written approval from your doctor / GP.

Can I eat before my treatment?

Normally, it is best not to eat anything or consume any alcoholic drinks 1 hour before your treatment. Of course, have plenty of water or fresh fruit juices.

Am I supposed to tip the therapist?

It is completely up to you. If you enjoyed the treatment and would like to tip the therapist then please feel free to do so. In terms of how much to tip, again, this is up to you and any tip is much appreciated by the therapists. Also, just so you know, elite body balance do not take any of the tips, it is 100% for the therapist and them only.
